The first symphonic tour

“Play the music I know in such a way so that I can feel I hear it for the first time!”

The Polish National Wind Orchestra set off for its the first symphonic tour. Great works of music such as Maurice Ravel’s Bolero,  Johann Strauss’s (son) Overture from the operetta “Die Fledermaus“,  Gustav Holst’s Mars, “Rapsody in Blue” or Krzysztof Penderecki’s  Pittsburgh Overture, almost completely unknown in Poland – sounded with arrangements for a symphonic wind ensemble consisting of almost 70 musicians. The first-night concert was held in the Cultural Centre “Muza” in Lubin, and later in the tour, the Orchestra performed in the Philharmonic in Łódź, the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk, and the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, the Symphonic Hall of the Philharmonic in Szczecin.
